A MENTORING PROGRAM
In support of Viacom’s Get Schooled initiative, Paramount Pictures has established Kindergarten to Cap & Gown. This program offers our employees an opportunity to make a lasting impact in the life of a student through mentoring, reading, career exploration and other volunteer activities.
The program is focused on sharing what we do best in film and entertainment: sparking imagination, creativity and exploration through storytelling.
Kindergarten to Cap & Gown assists students here in our own Hollywood neighborhood at four local elementary, middle and high schools.
SANTA MONICA BLVD COMMUNITY CHARTER
Employee volunteers are matched with one elementary student for reading sessions every other week for 1 hour or two Friday reading classes for 30 mins. Employees are supported by the Los Angeles Public Library’s Story Telling and Reading (S.T.A.R.) Program librarians.
LECONTE JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOL
JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOL
Employee volunteers are paired with tween aged students to help find their creative voice through storytelling with the Young Storytellers Foundation.
HELEN BERNSTEIN HIGH SCHOOL & STEM ACADEMY HIGH SCHOOL
Employees encourage a high school student’s move toward graduation and beyond through mentoring 2 hours a month alongside the Big Brothers, Big Sisters of Los Angeles.
